North Face's Douglas Tompkins: Chile offered land by dowager

Talks have started in the middle of Chile and the dowager of an American extremely rich person, Douglas Tompkins, over the gift of an immense nature hold in southern Chile.

Kristine McDivitt Tompkins talked about the gift with Chile's President Michelle Bachelet.

The transactions are relied upon to take two years.

Mr Tompkins, who kicked the bucket in December in a kayaking mishap, brought on debate in the 1990s by purchasing up area in southern Chile and Argentina to save it.

In December, Mrs McDivitt met the new Argentinean President Mauricio Macri to give to the nation 150,000 hectares of undermined wetlands close to the outskirt with Brazil, with the point of making the Ibera National Park.
